The design begins with a 32° inclination applied uniformly across all letters. The inclined forms sit on a grid composed of horizontal divisions set at 48 units. This grid defines core vertical measurements: x‑height (48 × 11 = 528 units), caps and ascenders (48 × 16 = 768 units), descenders (48 × 4 = 192 units), and the baseline for diacritics (48 × 17 = 816 units). These consistent multiples create the square aspect that gives Octuple Max its name and visual logic.

Horizontal and Vertical Horns

Vertical horns measure 48 × 7 = 336 units in width, while horizontal horns maintain a height of 48 units. Small letters receive slight optical corrections to the vertical horns so that forms read clearly despite strict numeric constraints. The counterforms consistently measure 48 × 2 = 96 units in width, which keeps the sum of two horns and the counter equal to cap height (336 + 96 + 336 = 768 units). This equality yields the square proportions that define the family.
